Had lunch here last Saturday. The queso and salsa were excellent. The server was friendly and warm. I had the shrimp salad and the shrimp were perfectly cooked and the salad greens were fresh and snappy. Wife had the tostada and it was excellent as well. I'd say they have made a nice comeback in spite of the recent review by a local writer. The silver charm margaritas were as good as ever as was the salsa.

We were hesitant to return to Maria's after they have been having some difficulties, but we had a wonderful dinner (steak fajitas for me and a huge cheeseburger with bacon and guacamole for my husband), delicious desserts (chocolate mousse for me, flan for him). We had a lovely waitress - attentive, not intrusive, pretty with a great smile, and she chuckled at my husband's lame jokes! What more could you want? We are neither of us big fans of alcohol, so no comment on drinks. I was disappointed to see all the Navajo rugs have been removed from the dining room we were seated in, but it was still nice. We absolutely will return soon.

Decided to have dinner here while visiting since this was one of our favorites when we use to live here years ago. They still have great food and service. Overall, we had a great dinong experience.

A friend and I took the Rail Runner to Santa Fe to catch a film not playing in ABQ and then hung out there for the afternoon. For dinner, we headed to Maria's. The place was packed, and the crowd loud. The cuisine is traditional New Mexican, and Maria's serves up precisely what you'd expect based on your mom's great cooking. Check it out. Order what you usually would elsewhere, and discover your new favorite New Mexican restaurant in Santa Fe.

Besides good food, they have a menu with 150 margaritas. Mainly it is by tequila brand but all are a little different. Our servers were a regular who was training a newbie. He is training her well because great service. Big nice space. We had fun talking to other patrons. We had a couple of margs and appetizers like the crispy tacos. They even brought us sopapilla for dessert.
